Include commencement programs for Peter and Pamela Forbes; Pamela's wedding announcement; a 1965 coronor's report on the autopsy of Portia Forbes; and articles, interviews and reviews of J.D. Forbes's books. Also include a copy of Forbes's article "Alice Eastwood remembered;" two membership certificates of Forbes's for the Sierra Club and The American Society of Dowsers Inc.; and letters to the editors of several publications on such subjects as kite-flying, grammar, relations with the Soviet Union and apartheid. In his personal correspondence Forbes discusses the improper use of "kudo," his poem "Disillusionment," and the "Forbes Bench" on Mt. Tamalpais.

Eastwood was curator and later head of the Department of Botany at the California Academy of Sciences, 1849-1949. She was responsible for saving the Academy's type collection after the San Francisco earthquake of 1906.
